The 100th Anniversary of Red Cross - 20 buqsha
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement was founded in 1863 following Henry Dunant's efforts to establish neutral relief organizations for wounded soldiers, codified in the First Geneva Convention of 1864. Expanded to include national societies operating under the Red Crescent emblem across the Islamic world, the movement established a global framework for humanitarian aid, emergency response, and wartime medical protection.To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Red Cross (Red Cross Centenary / الذكرى المئوية لهيئة الصليب الأحمر), the postal administration of the Yemen Arab Republic (الجمهورية العربية اليمنية) issued this postage stamp . The design features outstretched hands reaching toward a stylized vessel carrying a Red Crescent symbol, set against a soft blue gradient sky to represent hope, humanitarian protection, and international aid.
