National Flag - 100 Fils
This definitive postage stamp was issued in 1965 by the Federation of South Arabia as part of the same regular definitive series designed to establish a standardized postal network across the territory. Configured in a higher 100-fils denomination typically utilized for international airmail letters, heavy packets, or specialized registration services this stamp shifted focus from state heraldry to vibrant national color symbolism, broadcasting the federation's collective identity to domestic and overseas correspondents alike. The central design features the Flag of the Federation of South Arabia waving dynamically on a silver flagpole against a radiating sunburst pattern. The flag is composed of horizontal stripes of black, green, and light blue, separated by narrow yellow bars, with a white crescent moon and a five-pointed star superimposed at the center. The colors represented the region's landscape and Islamic heritage, while the crescent and star anchored it within classic Arab iconography. Framed within a rich brown border, the stamp bears the dual inscriptions "FEDERATION OF SOUTH ARABIA" and "Ittihad al-Janub al-Arabi" (اتحاد الجنوب العربي), serving as a prominent symbol of regional alignment and sovereign identity across the global mail stream.
