This image depicts a rare 1926 Imamate of Yemen definitive stamp, specifically the 1/8 Bogash denomination in black on an imperforate paper. The design is rich in traditional calligraphy and Islamic symbolism, featuring the prominent Crescent and Sword of the Zaydi Imamate. Within the central circular medallion, the Arabic inscription identifies the ruler, Imam Yahya bin Muhammad Hamid ed-Din, while the surrounding crescents and panels provide additional religious and administrative context. As one of the earliest postal issues from the Mutawakkilite Kingdom, this "sword" design reflects the sovereign identity of Yemen following the Ottoman period, characterized by its distinctive hand-drawn, lithographic aesthetic.
